Resilient Child Meditations are wonderful story-based meditations that teach your children resilience skills while guiding them to sleep. This set includes 16 meditations broken up into 2 series, one for younger kids ages 5-8 and one for ages 9-18. Both are subtly, but crucially different. Our research shows that teens appreciate explanation and information to buy in to the stories being told. Younger kids prefer more simple language, less explanation and like more description and encouragement.
Grief leaves most of us feeling unhinged, unsure of where to begin our healing journey. I recorded this guided meditation for grief and loss with the hope that it can be an anchor during tough times. Mourning a loved one is a balancing act - we naturally engage in the dual process of grief - moving back and forth between immersing ourselves in loss and navigating our way through the life that is left beyond the loss. This 18 minute meditation will teach you how to find refuge in your breath, and give you permission to reflect on your own self-care needs, and even help you set an action step that will help you take one small step towards finding the support you need. There is no elixir to heal the pain of grief, but there are steps you can take to ease your suffering.
Heather Stang, M.A. is the author of Mindfulness & Grief. She holds a Masters degree in Thanatology (Death, Dying, and Bereavement) from Hood College in Maryland, and is a certified Yoga Therapist. She is on the Advisory Board for the highly regarded military family survivor organization Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) and is a faculty member of the Portland Institute of Loss & Transition, founded by Dr. Robert A. Neimeyer. She is also the host of the Mindfulness & Grief Podcast, founder of the Mindfulness & Grief Institute and the Frederick Meditation Center in Maryland.
These are the guided meditations and mindful hatha yoga practices that constitute the formal practice curriculum of MBSR: the Body Scan Meditation; Mindful Yoga 1; Sitting Meditation; and Mindful Yoga 2. Each is 45 minutes in length. They are described in detail in Full Catastrophe Living, and are optimally used in conjunction with that book.
These guided meditations are designed for people who want a range of shorter guided meditations to help them develop, expand, or deepen a personal mindfulness meditation practice. This series includes the Mountain and Lake Meditations (each 20 minutes) as well as a range of 10-minute, 20-minute, and 30-minute sitting and lying down practices. This series was originally developed to be used in conjunction with Wherever You Go, There You Are.
These guided meditations were originally developed to accompany Coming to Our Senses, and use the unique sensory idiom of that book. The practices include mindfulness of breathing (Breathscape); mindfulness of other body sensations (Bodyscape); mindfulness of sounds and hearing (Soundscape); mindfulness of thoughts and emotions (Mindscape), the practice of choiceless awareness (Nowscape); and a lovingkindness meditation (Heartscape). Also included is a brief guided walking meditation. All programs are 10 to 20 minutes in length.
This is a 34-minute guided meditation for people with psoriasis, based on a study Jon and his colleagues conducted [Kabat-Zinn et al, 1998] showing that people with psoriasis who were practicing mindfulness by listening to a guided meditation similar to this one while undergoing ultraviolet light phototherapy treatments experienced a significantly higher rate of skin clearing that those patients receiving the light treatment by itself.
