Konjunktiv II is one of the forms that takes learners from "functional" to "natural". It appears in polite requests, unreal conditions, and wishes. Once you master it, your German starts to feel alive.

Forming Konjunktiv II

For most verbs, you use würde + Infinitiv. But the most common verbs have their own Konjunktiv II forms that you should know directly.
